The Devil’s Road: a serial (killer) novel
an interstate thriller based on true events
Welcome to Part 1 of The Devil’s Road, a blood-soaked journey inspired by the F.B.I.’s Highway Serial Killings Initiative.
In the late 1990s, over 500 bodies—most of them women—were discovered along the interstate highway system, many clustered around the Interstate 40 corridor stretching through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
This fictional narrative explores the origins of that chilling discovery through the eyes of Samantha Hart, a determined sheriff in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. Haunted by the unsolved murder of her sister, Samantha’s quest for vengeance uncovers a gruesome pattern of killings that she suspects are connected.
Joining her is Moses Blackrock, a Native American F.B.I. agent caught between his duty and his demons—fueling his gambling addiction by running small meth deals on the side. Entangled in their fight for justice is Heather Jean, a truck stop prostitute whose next customer may be her last, as she stumbles into the path of a predator who has made this highway his hunting ground.
The Devil’s Road is a tale of revenge and survival set against the unforgiving backdrop of the American heartland—a place where the innocent are prey, and justice is as elusive as a ghost in the dark.
